Illegal downloads on spread in UK, survey suggests

The UKL government is considering taking some serious action to curb illegal file sharing. According to a report, nearly one out of every ten people consume online media illegally, and considering this, the UK government is developing some new plans to stop illegal file sharing.

A survey, conducted by the Futuresource Consulting survey that included nearly 2500 people in different countries as France, Germany, UK, and the US noted that nearly 8% people admitted illegal downloading.

In the UK, nearly two-thirds of respondents told that they watched films and TV on their PCs giving no consideration to legal or illegal variety. The survey results showed that nearly 90% people never paid for online media they consumed.

There are several different companies who are providing online free content, and the results of the survey really have some serious implications for their streaming revenues in future.

According to Futuresourece, these illegal downloads hamper the way in the development of a sound online content service. However, the good thing is that most of the people included in that survey told that they would consider paying for online content in future.
