Newly FabricMIT researchers have developed a new kind of fabric that will act like a camera. The researchers have used light-sensitive mesh fibers in that fabric that will serve like a rudimentary camera when used together. The fibers which have been used in that fabric are able to detect two light frequencies. These fibers produce signals and when they are processed and amplified with the help of a computer, they reproduce a similar image close to the mesh.

Yoel Fink, who is an associate professor at materials science, says with his team that: “ It’s happening first time that someone is demonstrating that a fabric or to be more exact a single fibers plane can gather images in the same way as a camera without using any lens.”
