DiggDigg was once a hot social networking news website, but now the charm is fading quite fast, and now it has become the middle child for a large number of web 2.0 companies.

Reckoning Twitter as their new darling. Now as the pains and troubles are increasing for the site, the more efforts are being put from its executive to promote the site in a real aggressive manner. It seems that they don’t want to leave any stone unturned and willing to go through fire and water to win more and more users and gain the lost glory.

Jay Adelson, the CEO of the social networking site says that the overhauling of the site will create a rich and better experience for its over 36m current users, and the new features will also prove a great attraction for the new users.

AOL to retain Bebo, boss says

BeboThese days AOL seems to put all its focus on spinning off from Time Warner Inc. Though these guys are reviewing their assets to divest or sell, it’s quite evident that they will keep their social networking site Bebo, as company’s CEO Tim Armstrong has confirmed.

AOL boss Tim Armstrong has told Reuters that their social networking site is still highly valuable for them, and they are looking ahead for further improvement in it. The social networking site is going to move to AOL’s Ventures unit for further development, and this very moved has caused some speculation about the selling of the site which is lagging behind in popularity from some other social networking sites like twitter and Facebook.

Twitter-related startups and funding amounts

Twitter has been seen in the limelight for the last six months, and with its nice funded startup, these guys have accumulated around $55m from many different angels as well as from VCs. The microblogging site has become a new destination for a large number of social networking migrants. So, this dramatic increase is not limited just to its growing popularity, but it also relates to the number of applications and other startups that relate to it.

It’s true that there are not enough venture-funded or angel startups or apps, but it is also a fact that some notable investments have been made in various sort of startups that have emerged as the initial predicator on the site. At present, nearly $23.27m have been attained so far with 11 different startups of the site and most of them are from venture capital firms as well as from angel investors.
